1. About the Section

Description: Acss-1

An independent section of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science was started in 1958. Shri. was the first Professor of the section. The section of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science had inherited the scholarship in teaching and research from people like Dr.Ballal, Dr.Mate, Dr. Deoras, Dr. Babhrekar, Prof. D.B. Tamgadge and Dr.K.K. Thakare. This section is imparting education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

The march of teaching and achievements can be judged from the number of alumini it has produced successfully outside the gate of the college. Apart from regular teaching the section also conducts research on soil health, nutrition in soil and extension work. A total of * recommendations on Agril.Chemistry and Soil science at University level have come out for the benefit of Scientific society and farmers.

With the advance of time new horizons in the ACSS will be visible and research and teaching will be proceeding towards progress and will add new chapter in the volume of learning.

2. Academic Programme:-

The section is offering courses on Agril.Chemistry & Soil Science, Biochemistry, and Land Use Planning to both undergraduate and Post graduate. There are specialized fields like Nutrient Management, Remote Sensing, GIS, GPS under which different courses and projects are conducted in partial fulfillment for award of BSc.(Agri.) and  MSc. (Agri.). The courses are grouped under two major fields of specialization management ie. Agril. Chemistry and Soil Science. The courses offered are as follows:-
